Flock

I went to a parking lot and threw out a ton of chips because I wanted to photograph seagulls for my paintings. When I went back through the photographs later I noticed how much they all looked alike. The set of their eyes, the shape of their beaks, their overall features - they had such a strong family resemblance.

That became the inspiration for Flock. The painting is a group of seagulls against the blue background but there's a little trick to it: it's actually the same bird painted over and over.
